The Chevrolet Performance ZZ572/720R Deluxe Crate Engine is engineered to be the "king of all Rat engines," capable of propelling bracket racers and heads-up challengers into the 9-second range on the drag strip. This fully assembled powerhouse boasts an impressive 720 horsepower and 680 ft-lbs of torque, making it an ideal choice for performance enthusiasts seeking serious power. Constructed with a brand-new, tall-deck, cast-iron Generation VI block featuring four-bolt main caps, this engine houses an all-forged rotating assembly. The crankshaft has a 4.375-inch stroke, and it is complemented by shot-peened forged 4340 H-beam rods and forged aluminum pistons. The high-flow aluminum rectangular-port cylinder heads feature massive 310cc intake passages and 118cc raised exhaust ports, contributing to its formidable performance. At its heart is a unique mechanical roller camshaft with 0.714-inch lift and 278/282-degree duration specifications at 0.050-inch lift. The engine has a 12.0:1 compression ratio, necessitating the use of 110-octane gasoline, and is described as suitable for limited forays on the street. Installation requires the bolt-on of an included Dominator-style 1090-cfm carburetor, along with a starter and fuel pump, which are not included. This ZZ572/720R engine is also compatible with the Chevrolet Performance TREMEC T56 Super Magnum 6-Speed Manual Transmission and its corresponding installation kit, designed for 427 and 572 Big-Block applications.
